Not-for-profit employment and training services provider, VERTO, has today announced a partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities Northern NSW (RMHC NNSW) to support seriously ill or injured children and their families at a time when they need it most.

The two organisations today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to work together. As part of this MOU, VERTO will not only make a donation of $20,000, but will give families who are part of RMHC NNSW programs access to training and employment options and assistance.

VERTO will also support and promote RMHC NNSW fundraising events, workplace donation initiatives and corporate volunteering programs throughout the year to raise awareness and additional funds for this vitally important charity.

“RMHC has a long history of supporting the community, providing accommodation and other vital services to 60,000 children and families across the country each year,” VERTO Chief Executive Officer Ron Maxwell said.

“We are honoured to play a small part in helping the Northern NSW branch to support the ever-changing needs of seriously ill children and their families.

“VERTO aims to positively transform the lives of individuals, families and our local communities, and we see this MOU as yet another way we can achieve this mission.”

RMHC NNSW CEO Ross Bingham said the new partnership with VERTO and generous donation would go directly towards supporting the many families that stay or use any of the programs across the Northern NSW chapter.

“To put this contribution into context, it will allow us to provide families throughout Northern NSW with tutoring through our learning program and support through our family rooms in Gosford and Newcastle, while our local families experience time in the Children’s Hospital,” he said.

“Families have the ability to spend family time together at our Family Retreat in Forster and a ‘home away from home’ at our Newcastle and Tamworth Ronald McDonald Houses while their child is seriously ill or injured in hospital.

“As an organisation that relies heavily on the support of the community, we can’t thank VERTO enough for this support and the ongoing partnership. Together we can make a difference for seriously ill children and their families.”

The partnership has commenced today and will be commemorated with the addition of a VERTO Leaf to the ‘Tree of Love’ located at Ronald McDonald House in Newcastle, NSW.
