When Pari Taghipour and her family made the life-changing move from Iran to Australia in May 2025, she was determined to create a future full of opportunity. Back home, Pari ran her own insurance agency, but she knew starting fresh in a new country would bring both challenges and exciting possibilities.
Wasting no time after her arrival, Pari joined the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program in Charlestown on the recommendation of friends who had already benefited, with one clear goal: to find her first job in Australia.
“I joined because I wanted to improve my skills in writing my resume and finding my first job here,” she explained.
“It can be quite challenging to get a job these days, especially in a new country, and I felt the SEE program was the best way to prepare myself.”
Working closely with her SEE trainer, Paula Quigley-Walker, Pari received one-on-one support to update her resume, practice how to answer pre-interview phone calls, and build confidence in presenting her skills and experience to Australian employers. Together, they also talked about life in Australia and the changes her high-school-aged child would experience with the local school system.
It didn’t take long for Pari’s dedication to pay off. Within just one month of starting the program, she secured a role at Game Farm, a large company with farms and teams across Australia. Introduced to the organisation through her husband, who also works there, Pari was warmly welcomed into the administration department.
“It’s a fresh and rewarding experience for me. I’m learning so much about daily operations, animal care, and the teamwork required in this environment. The work is sometimes physical and challenging, but I’m really enjoying it so far. I’m looking forward to gaining more skills and growing in the opportunity,” Pari shared.
For Pari, this first step is about more than just a job. It marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for her and her family in Australia.
“I am very excited about building a new life here. I enjoy learning new things and meeting people, and I am motivated to keep improving myself and my career.”
