When Sydney’s Harsha Nair found himself between jobs in 2019, he turned to not-for-profit organisation VERTO for assistance.
VERTO helped Harsha access government funding through the Skills Checkpoint for Older Workers Program and enrolled him in a Diploma in Mortgage Broking and Finance Management.
Here’s what he had to say about this life-changing experience:
“VERTO did a great job assisting me with a career-advancement course and helped me meet the eligibility criteria for a government co-funding initiative which subsidised 50 per cent of my course,” Harsha said.
“I’m delighted to advise that I completed the Diploma in Mortgage and Finance Management this year and am about to start my own mortgage broking business, Navitas Finance.
“A big thanks to Skills Checkpoint consultant Jessica Horne for her support throughout the process. I would happily recommend Jessica to others who are looking for a career change.”
The Skills Checkpoint for Older Workers Program is specifically designed for workers aged 45-70, providing eligible Australians with assessment, advice and guidance on transitioning into new roles.
