Izabelle Sayers gains two jobs thanks to VERTO

Taree’s Izabelle Sayers became a VERTO Disability Employment Services participant in 2023. Izabelle was referred to VERTO with ADHD and struggled to find the right job to meet her skills and interests.

VERTO Client Consultant, Peter Rath, immediately recognised Izabelle’s intelligence and abilities. Peter showcased Izabelle’s skills to a range of Taree businesses which resulted in Izabelle gaining employment as a Retail Assistant at Manning Mobility and Healthcare.

Izabelle has gone from strength to strength and is now taking on complex tasks and responsibilities, including managing the shop unsupervised.

In fact, Izabelle has gained so much confidence, in March 2024 she gained a second part-time role through a referral by Peter with Caring Care as a Disability Services Administrator. Izabelle found the skills she gained in her role at Manning Mobility and Healthcare were transferable, allowing her to thrive in her second role.

“Just having someone there for me to help through each step of the process, everything from showcasing my abilities and presentation skills, all the way to helping me shop for work shoes, made a world of difference in securing a job and building my employment confidence,” Izabelle said.

“Peter and the team at VERTO were a massive help. Peter was someone I could always rely on for support and advice.”

Peter admitted he was incredibly proud of Izabelle and how far she had come since they first met in 2023.

“Izabelle has been a delight to work with from the start, always attentive and well-presented and always willing to participate in reverse marketing and other activities. She always puts her best foot forward and it’s been a pleasure to support her through her employment journey over the past 1.5 years with VERTO,” Peter said.

VERTO Chief Executive Officer, Ron Maxwell, said Izabelle’s story showed how the Australian Government’s Disability Employment Services program supported people to realise their full potential.

“Having a disability, injury or health condition doesn’t need to hold you back from a meaningful career, and stories like Izabelle’s make me so proud of what our team and our clients can achieve together,” Mr Maxwell said.
