National award for Cowra's Annie Crasti

VERTO Cowra's team leader, Annie Crasti has taken out Employment Consultant of the Year at the 2019 National Employment Services Association's (NESA) Awards for Excellence.

Annie, who was nominated by VERTO, received the accolade at the gala award's dinner on August 13.

She said the award was a total surprise.

"I have a passion for helping people so this is just above and beyond anything I've ever expected," she said.

"The phone has not stopped, the flowers, it is just continuous, [I'm] totally blessed.

"Ididn't have a speech prepared because I honesty didn't think I would win it, just being nominated by VERTO... was more than I ever expected and then to get told I made it to the top four in Australia, it's just overwhelming and a nice feeling."

Annie said none of this would be possible without the support of her coworkers, businesses and the wider Cowra community.

"I'd like to thank VERTO and a whole, my management team for what they've given me over the last five and a half years, the community, our clients and the employers for trusting us to help them and assist them with their business," she said.

"My beautiful local team... and acknowledge the support from the Cowra Business Chamber and my family."

According to NESA,Annie has reinvented herself as a stand-out employment services consultant in her local region, helping VERTO to attain the only 5-star rating in the Central West Employment Region.

She is also a volunteer firefighter and member of the Cowra Business Chamber.

Annie was the winner of the Cowra Business Leader of the Year in February 2018.
