VERTO and Skillset have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen education, training and employment outcomes across Western NSW.
Signed on Monday 16 February the agreement formalises a partnership focused on addressing regional workforce and skills shortages through coordinated, locally delivered services.
VERTO is a not-for-profit organisation and registered charity with more than 40 years’ experience delivering inclusive employment, training and community services across metropolitan and regional areas. Skillset is a leading not-for-profit provider of apprenticeships, traineeships, career development, workforce programs and senior secondary education services throughout regional NSW.
Under the MOU, the organisations will collaborate on apprenticeships, traineeships and vocational education pathways, strengthen employment services for job seekers and employers, and share facilities and resources to enhance service delivery across the region.
The partnership will also focus on joint advocacy, grant opportunities and regional development initiatives aligned to both organisations’ strategic priorities.
VERTO CEO Ron Maxwell said the partnership would deliver stronger outcomes for local communities.
“This agreement allows us to combine our expertise and work more closely with Skillset to support job seekers, apprentices, trainees and employers through inclusive, locally focused services,” Mr Maxwell said.
Skillset CEO Narelle Stocks said the MOU provides a clear framework for collaboration.
“By working together, we can maximise impact, reduce duplication and create clearer pathways into education, training and employment for people across Western NSW,” Ms Stocks said.
