VERTO today welcomed government representatives, community partners, stakeholders and learners to its new Broadmeadow site, celebrating the continued growth of the Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) program during Adult Learners Week.
The event marked an important milestone for the program, which has recently expanded its services in the Hunter region and now supports more than 200 participants across its delivery network.
Held at VERTO's Broadmeadow training facility, the open day showcased the opportunities available through the Australian Government-funded SEE program, which helps adults improve their language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills to achieve their education, training and employment goals. The event provided attendees with an opportunity to tour the new facility, meet the SEE team and learn more about the support available to local community members.
VERTO Chief Executive Officer Ron Maxwell said the expansion of the SEE program into Broadmeadow reflects the growing demand for accessible education and training pathways across the Hunter region.
"Strong foundation skills create opportunities for people to participate confidently in work, training and everyday life. The Broadmeadow site will allow us to support more people in the Hunter to build their skills, increase their confidence and achieve their goals. Adult Learners Week is the perfect opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our learners and the positive impact lifelong learning can have on individuals, families and communities."
SEE Program Manager Peta Skinner said the new site strengthens VERTO's ability to provide local, personalised support for learners.
"Every learner's journey is different. Whether someone is looking to improve their reading and writing skills, increase their digital confidence, prepare for further study or take the next step towards employment, our team is here to help them succeed."
The Broadmeadow site expansion forms part of VERTO's ongoing commitment to supporting individuals, families and communities through education, employment and training services. Recent program updates show strong participant engagement and attendance, with continued investment in improving learner experiences and outcomes.
