VERTO hosts tech savvy seniors’ roadshow in Bathurst

VERTO, in conjunction with the New South Wales Government and Telstra, was proud to host the Bathurst leg of the 2017 Tech Savvy Seniors Regional Roadshow today.

The aim of the Roadshow is to give Seniors the opportunity to bring along their devices (including smartphones, tables and laptops) and troubleshoot any issues, or ask any questions, of Telstra’s expert team. The Roadshow will also assist to build Seniors’ skills and confidence in terms of using new technology so they can stay in touch with their family and friends, and access critical services online.

VERTO chief executive, Ron Maxwell, said VERTO was thrilled to be part of such an important community initiative.

“It was an absolute pleasure to welcome over 30 local Seniors to our Bathurst site today,” Mr Maxwell said. “It was also great to have the support of Member for Bathurst, the Hon. Paul Toole MP, Bathurst Mayor, Cr Graeme Hanger OAM, and other key community leaders at the event.

“It’s critical that we support all Seniors to engage with new technologies so that they can stay connected with their support networks and vital services. “This is particularly important where mobility issues limit a Senior’s ability to physically access services or visit friends and family. “I congratulate the New South Wales Government and Telstra on funding this important community program,” Mr Maxwell said.
