VERTO invested in thriving Central West community

Not-for-profit employment and training services provider, VERTO, has increased its investment in Bathurst with the purchase of a commercial property at 229 Howick Street.

Although VERTO now has a large footprint spanning NSW, Victoria and the ACT, CEO Ron Maxwell said  the organisation remained committed to the Central West community where its journey began more than three decades ago.

“Since we first opened our doors as a regional evening college in the Central West in 1983, we have expanded to provide employment and training services in more than 40 locations,” Mr Maxwell said.

“Despite this expansion, VERTO continues to maintain its headquarters in Bathurst. We employ more than 30 local people in Bathurst and more than 80 across the Central West, supporting thousands of job seekers, employers and apprentices each year.

“We’re very excited to deepen our commitment to the Bathurst community with the purchase of 229 Howick Street. In such uncertain times, our communities need stability and a sense of continuity. Our message to the Bathurst community is clear: VERTO is here to stay.

“We will continue to employ local people, provide access to employment and training services, and support the job seekers, apprentices and employers who rely on us.”

VERTO Chairman, Andrew Abel, added that VERTO had a long history of supporting the community through fundraising and sponsorships.

“Alongside investing through this purchase, VERTO will continue to support local charities, events and sporting clubs in 2021 and beyond,” he said.

“This year, VERTO is a proud sponsor of C3 Cyclists, Panorama Platypi Women’s Rugby League Club, Veritas House’s Winter Wonderland Ball and the 2021 NAIDOC Dubbo Ball, to name just a few.

“VERTO provided more than $130,000 and sponsorships to charities, not-for-profit organisations, sporting clubs and more in 2020, at the height of the pandemic.

“VERTO’s mission is to positively transform the lives of individuals, families and communities, and investment in our home base here in Bathurst plays a big part. We believe that together, local businesses and communities can help the Central West grow and thrive into the future.”

VERTO supports individuals and employers with a range of employment, training, apprenticeship and tenancy advice services. To find out more about how VERTO can support your goals, get in touch on 1300 4 VERTO (1300 483 786) or visit verto.org.au.
