VERTO Chief Executive Officer, Ron Maxwell, today announced VERTO was proud to be selected as a provider of vocational education and training under the New South Wales (NSW) Government’s new Smart and Skilled program.
Speaking from Thomleck IGA’s Trinity Heights store in Bathurst, Mr Maxwell said VERTO will offer training under the Smart and Skilled program across NSW from 1 January 2015.
“VERTO is proud to be offering training under the Smart and Skilled program from early 2015,” Mr Maxwell said.
“We have been selected as a provider because of our past performance, capacity, capability and commitment to quality.
“We will be offering training across NSW in key industries including retail, agrifoods, and community services and health.
“As part of this, we will also be offering a range of courses at our training hubs in Bathurst, Newcastle and Orange, and offering outreach training services from these sites.
“The program will give people the opportunity to gain the skills they need to enter into sustainable employment and advance their careers.
“We’re extremely pleased the program includes subsidised training for qualifications from Certificate I level to Diploma level.
“This includes some of the qualifications we have trained Thomleck IGA employees in previously, including Certificate II in Retail Services, Certificate III in Retail Operations and Certificate IV in Frontline Management.
“Smart and Skilled will also assist local employers across NSW as it builds skills in the right industries in order to meet the state's future demand for jobs,” Mr Maxwell said.
