VERTO CEO Ron Maxwell has today welcomed a NSW Government announcement that it will share in more than $2.5 million in extra funding for the Tenants’ Advice and Advocacy Services.
Minister for Better Regulation and Innovation, Matthew Kean, announced the one-off additional funding to assist the thousands of Australians that are being impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“As the NSW Government’s preferred provider of the NSW South West Tenants’ Advice and Advocacy Service, this funding announcement is great news,” Mr Maxwell said.
“The effects of the COVID-19 pandemic will be felt right across the country for a long time. What this extra funding means is that VERTO will be able to meet increased demand for free advice and advocacy services for residential tenants in Albury, Bathurst, Goulburn, Orange, Wagga Wagga and surrounding areas.”
Mr Maxwell said VERTO had been provided $105,238 in extra funding that would help prevent people losing their homes, prevent an increase in homelessness and in turn improve the lives and opportunities of many families and children.
VERTO’s Tenancy service is free of charge and is available to any tenant who has an enquiry or concern regarding their residential tenancy.
