VERTO Chief Executive Officer, Ron Maxwell, today announced VERTO has been selected to provide Australian Apprenticeship Support Network (AASN) services from 2015 to 2018 across New South Wales.
Mr Maxwell said the VERTO team was proud to continue to be a provider of Australian Apprenticeship services, particularly given its 12 year history in the industry.
"We are extremely pleased the Australian Government has given VERTO the opportunity to continue to support both Australian Apprentices and employers right across New South Wales," Mr Maxwell said.
“The new AASN contract represents growth for VERTO, as we will now be offering this service across all of New South Wales (and not just select regions).
“Youth unemployment is at around 14 per cent nationally, and the latest reports show apprenticeship rates dropped by 18 per cent from September 2013 to September 2014.
“These worrying trends demonstrate a need for concerted focus on the vocational education and training sector now more than ever.
“The new AASN (effective from 1 July 2015) is designed to give Australian Apprentices and employers all the support they need,” Mr Maxwell said.
Mr Maxwell said the new and improved AASN would include a range of tailored offerings including job matching and mentoring in order to better support Australian Apprentices and employers, ensuring a lift in completion rates for apprenticeships and traineeships.
“The AASN will make it easier for employers to find, train and retain quality apprentices and trainees,” Mr Maxwell said.
“Providers will be a one-stop-shop for Australian Apprentices and employers as they will (amongst a broad range of tasks) job match, provide advice about training options, facilitate personalised mentoring to at-risk students and facilitate all paper work associated with employer incentives and Trade Support Loans,” Mr Maxwell said.
Mr Maxwell also said VERTO was proud to work with HVTC as part of the AASN program, with the affiliation ensuring a greater physical coverage of New South Wales.
"HVTC is Australia’s oldest Group Training Organisation and has employed and trained more than 20,000 people over the past 34 years,” Mr Maxwell said.
“VERTO and HVTC’s complementary range of services, combined experience in the vocational training and education industry, and broad geographic coverage means Australian Apprentices and employers will enjoy a seamless, unsurpassed customer experience with us.
“We look forward to continuing to work with Australian Apprentices and employers right across New South Wales over the next three years,” Mr Maxwell said.
