VERTO is proud to celebrate Disability Ambassador Sam Longmore, who has been named a winner in the 2025 Shine Awards, recognising her inspiring personal journey and advocacy for people with disability.
The Shine Awards, presented by The Weekly Times celebrate women who make a real difference in rural and regional Australia.
Sam’s recognition highlights her dedication to empowering others to achieve their goals, her leadership within the disability community, and her work in promoting inclusivity through her role at VERTO.
VERTO CEO Ron Maxwell said the entire organisation was proud to see Sam’s passion and resilience recognised at a national level.
“We are absolutely delighted for Sam. She embodies the values that define VERTO – empowerment, inclusion and community. Sam’s story inspires others to believe in themselves and shows what’s possible when people are given the right support and opportunity,” Mr Maxwell said.
As a Disability Ambassador at VERTO, Sam uses her lived experience to advocate for accessible employment opportunities, raise awareness of the barriers people with disability face, and encourage more inclusive workplace practices across Australia.
Sam is passionate about showing that disability doesn’t define your potential. Sam hopes her story encourages others to keep pushing forward and never give up on their dreams.
