Our History

We've been part of the local community for OVER 30 years.

We began our life as a regional evening college in 1983. Since then our growth has taken some of our services beyond the Central West region to stretch as far as Tweed Heads, Broken Hill and Albury.

We also now do so much more than courses and training.

Our successful growth has been in direct response to community needs and today our services include vocational training, employment, apprenticeships and community support as well as specialist programs to assist people with disability and Aboriginal communities.

This growth and diversity of services led to the decision to change the name of the organisation from Central West Community College to VERTO. This change took effect on 1 July 2012.

But, while our name may have changed, our focus on transforming the lives of the local people, communities and industries we serve has remained steadfast.
