VERTO is here to get more women into trades and help address the trade skills shortage in Australia!

Investment from the Australian Government to boost number of women in trades is $38.6M

Additional support is offered to women who commence in a trade occupation on the Australian apprenticeship priority list

Women make up just 11 per cent of trade apprenticeships completed in the last 5 years, compared to 89 per cent of men in trade apprenticeships

In NSW women represent only 2 per cent of qualified trade workers

Trade careers are rewarding and positively impact the economic security of women. At VERTO, we see many female tradies who have forged successful and fulfilling careers in trade industries. We’re passionate about continual growth in this area – not only through ongoing promotion of women in non-traditional trades, but also by providing the best support possible to current tradies.

VERTO is pleased to be offering the following services to women seeking or currently employed in male-dominated industries: -

Start your apprenticeship journey today

In Training Support: - In Training Support offers ongoing support once you have signed into an apprenticeship.  Specialist support advisors will contact you to offer additional support including pastoral care, mediation, and career guidance, as well as a referral process directing apprentices to specialist services for further advice or action.

Mentoring Support Services - A highly skilled mentor will contact you in the first three months of your apprenticeship and link you to peer support networks to strengthen connections of women in trades, create opportunities for WNTT to undertake enterprise skills training, and provide career and pathway advice related to the industry relevant to your chosen apprenticeship.

Now, more than ever, there are multiple organisations who work to advocate for women in trades. Here are just a few that may help you on your journey.
