eligibility
To be eligible for SEE, you need to be either:
- an Australian citizen, or
- a permanent visa holder, or
- on a provisional or temporary visa with working rights and eligible for the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP), or
- a Pacific Australian Labour Mobility visa holder
and:
- aged 15 years and over and left school, and
- need help with your reading, writing, maths, English language or digital skills.

- Introductory Sessions: Within the first 25 hours of training, the PSO meets with each participant to introduce themselves, explain their role, and outline the support services available.
- Removing Barriers: PSOs work closely with participants to identify and address any challenges that may impede their progress in the program. Participants can receive up to three hours of PSO support throughout their training.
- Coordinating Participant Support Services: PSOs ensure that participants receive the appropriate support throughout their training journey.
- Job Search Assistance: PSOs assist participants in developing effective job search strategies, aiming to enhance their employability and secure long-term employment.
- Connecting to Essential Services: Whether it's legal aid, mental health support, or other community resources, PSOs help participants access external services that can further support their personal and professional growth.

Q3: Can the SEE Program be tailored to suit individual participant needs?
Yes, the SEE Program is highly flexible and designed to meet the unique needs of each participant. Training can be customized to target specific areas of improvement, such as reading, writing, numeracy, digital literacy, or employability skills.
Q4: How can providers refer participants to the SEE Program?
Employment service providers can refer participants by completing the necessary referral forms through the Department’s IT system (ESS or WFA). Providers should also ensure that participants meet eligibility criteria and that the SEE Program aligns with their learning and employment goals.
Q5: How long does a Participant complete the SEE Program for?
A Participant can be enrolled for up to 24 months – If they do require further assistance then the Participant can be enrolled again 1 business day later.
