Tech Savvy Seniors

Tech Savvy Seniors Program

Tech Savvy Seniors is an initiative of the NSW Ageing Strategy and is funded through a partnership between the NSW Government and Telstra. The program delivers training to seniors who have had limited or no previous experience in using computers and for those who need additional help in developing their digital literacy skills. The Tech Savvy Seniors Program is delivered by a network of NSW community colleges and libraries to seniors in regional and remote communities and Sydney metropolitan locations.

The program provides low cost or free training to assist older people to develop the confidence and the skills to use computers, tablets and smart phones so they can access online information and services. The program also aims to promote social connection with family and friends and engagement within the community.

The training will target:

  • Seniors* who have little or no experience in using technologies
  • Seniors who need additional skills and confidence to use and adapt to new technologies
  • Seniors from a social inclusion target group including Aboriginal, migrants/refugees and people with a disability

* Seniors are those aged 60 years and above or Aboriginal seniors aged from 50 years
